UGA STAFF ANNUAL PERFORMANCE EVALUATIONS ![]()
The new UGA Staff Annual Performance Evaluations consist of the following:
- 5 items covering Core Competencies that apply to all staff members
- 2 items covering Leadership Competencies that apply as applicable to a staff member's job duties and responsibilities
- Additional Competencies can be added as appropriate for job duties and responsibilities not covered under the UGA Staff Competency Model
- Goal-Setting
- Development of a Professional Development Plan

There are three versions of the staff annual performance evaluation form based on a staff member's University System of Georgia job classification code and assigned job duties. The first three digits of this job classification code are known as the BCAT (Board of Regents Job Category)

Non-Exempt Staff are defined as staff having a USG BCAT of 500-899. These include staff in positions of Clerical/Secretarial, Technical/Paraprofessional/Professional, Skilled Crafts, and Service Maintenance.
For purposes of the staff competency model, Exempt Staff are defined as staff having a USG BCAT of 400-499. These include staff in positions of Professionals in the areas of Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, Institutional Affairs, Fiscal Affairs, External Affairs and Facilities, Information Technology, Research and Public Service Health Science, Agriculture/Forestry/Marine/Aeronautics, Athletic Affairs and Police/Security.
For purposes of the UGA Staff Competency Model, Staff Manager/Leader are defined as staff having a USG BCAT of 193 – 339. These include staff in positions of Director, Associate/Assistant Director, Manager, Deputy/Associate/Assistant Manager, and Executive Assistant.
