2025-2026 Student Health Insurance Plan

Every year, the University System of Georgia and the University of Georgia work hard to obtain the most competitive rates and most valuable benefits for students enrolling in the USG Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP). We work with an Advisory Committee which includes student representation to help recommend the best approach for plan benefits and premiums each year.
For the 2025-2026 Academic Year, there are no changes to plan benefits and there will not be a premium increase to any of the categories for students and enrollees. The University Health Center Referral Requirement will be removed from the policy beginning August 1, 2025. Students will no longer be required to obtain a referral from the UGA Health Center prior to seeking services from a provider within the community.
Despite the rapid increase in healthcare costs across the broader economy, we are exceptionally pleased to offer the same pricing as the 2024-2025 plan year. The chart below shows the annual premium for each tier.

For the 2025-2026 policy year, UGA will continue to pay 50% of the premium for student-only coverage for graduate students with a qualifying graduate assistantship, qualifying fellowship and/or qualifying training grant. Additional information on assistantships and fellowships is available here.
