About Engage & Learn
In January 2019, a Presidential Task Force was charged with creating new, robust professional
development opportunities to support the growth and development of our staff. To accomplish
this mission, the task force established two primary subcommittees to address data
collection and best practices research. From this work, the task force made numerous
recommendations, all of which were accepted by the President in the fall of 2019.
These initiatives will be implemented by Human Resources on a staggered schedule.
Grant Program - Reopening Fall 2024
The University of Georgia is committed to the professional and career development
of staff. The Engage & Learn Grant Program was established as part of the Engage &
Learn initiative in. We are reviewing this program and evaluating how the funds will
be utilized in the future. Therefore, the program is not accepting applications at this time. We are excited about the broad spectrum of programs and investments that the University
continues to make to support staff growth and development.

NEW! Volunteer Instructor Program (VIP)
Personal, professional, and organizational development at UGA is a campus-wide effort.
In addition to our L&D staff who develop programs and provide professional education
and opportunities, there are a host of volunteers from around campus who generously
share their knowledge and expertise to help our campus succeed and flourish. VIP is
designed to invest in these individuals by showing our appreciation and offering additional
learning to help them develop as instructors.

- Provide L&D with your class information and let us enter it into PEP
- Use our rooms at L&D (or let us help you find space) for in-person classes
