- The Certified HR Practitioner role is an advanced user role within UGAJobs. This role is designed to streamline the hiring process within UGAJobs from the department level.
- The CHRP role was created to allow for greater efficiencies in the hiring process by removing additional layers of review.
- After attending University HR-led training, users will have the authority to review and approve actions at the department level, bypassing HR for final approval on various actions.
- The management and oversight of CHRP functionality resides at the School, College or Division level under the direction of the HR Liaison or Chief Business Officer.
- Departments have the ability to identify employees they would like to have the Certified HR Practitioner user role.
- It is recommended those identified to hold the Certified HR Practitioner role be experienced UGAJobs users.
- Any questions or concerns as to whether or not this functionality is to be used should be directed to the division’s HR Liaison or Chief Business Officer. - Authority to clone graduate student, student assistant & temporary positions
- Authority to adjust start date on non-faculty hiring proposals prior to final approval (i.e., all approvals obtained)
- Authority to review & approve non-faculty modify position actions for supervisor, working title, & department changes
- Authority to review & post non-faculty positions
- Authority to add a recruitment contact to non-faculty postings
- Authority to seat/unseat current students, graduate students & temporary employees through position actions
- The Certified HR Practitioner role is an all-encompassing role, designed to be managed by departments and units. While University HR will grant user access to an individual after receiving a signed user request form, the department may decide how they would like to utilize the role within their unit.
- University HR asks all users interested in the Certified HR Practitioner role to partner with their unit’s HR Liaison to complete and submit a signed user request form (PDF). All signed user request forms should be submitted to hrweb@uga.edu Attn: CHRP user request form
- Due to the overarching responsibility of this role, there are specific training requirements and recommendations that an employee must adhere to prior to being granted this role and using the CHRP advanced system functionality.
- No, there is no particular order in which you should attend training based on the topics offered.
- Departments have the authority to decide whom will have access to the role as well as which enhancements they will utilize.

- University HR offers virtual training sessions for the Certified HR Practitioner enhancements. To locate and sign up for current offerings, log on to the Professional Education Portal (PEP) at https://pep.uga.eduwith your UGA MyID and password. Once on the PEP homepage, scroll down to the “View and register for current learning events” box. You may click on the “Go to Calendar” button to locate and select the session(s) that work best for you.
