Overview

The Policy on Arrests and Criminal Charges requires any current employee who is arrested, is the subject of a warrant, or is charged with a crime (other than a minor traffic offense) to report the incident to University Human Resources within 72 hours of becoming aware of the charge or warrant, or, in the case of an arrest, release from incarceration.

Additionally, any current employee must notify University Human Resources within 24 hours of the outcome of a criminal case, whether the result is a conviction, first offender plea, reduction to a lesser charge, dismissal of charges, nolo contendere, nolle prosequi, or similar outcome.

Failure to report as required under the policy may result in appropriate disciplinary action, including termination of employment.

A report made under this policy is in addition to and does not replace the requirement to notify one’s supervisor if the employee is unable to return to work.
