SUMMARY
This is administrative supervisory work in directing
the activities and production of printed material and/or graphic arts
products in a centralized duplicating services unit.

DUTIES
AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Inspects work in progress and upon completion to insure that quality
and quantity standards are compiled with. Oversees materials inventory, ordering, source file maintenance, pricing,
etc. Sets priorities and deadlines for work requests in progress and pending. Oversees billing process, maintains and evaluates summary figures for
budget analyst. Responsible for the collection of time cards, leave requests, distribution
of checks, maintaining personnel records, and interviewing prospective
employees, etc. Establishes maintenance schedules, oversees routine maintenance, and
arranges for service on equipment within the unit. Confers with sales representatives regarding new equipment purchases. Provides accurate cost/time estimates for jobs submitted. Supervises subordinate employees in the performance of their individual
responsibilities within the unit. Performs related work as required.

EDUCATION
AND EXPERIENCE
Graduation from a standard high school or vocational school and some experience in the management of a small offset press operation; previous supervisory experience, or any equivalent combination of training and experience. |
KNOWLEDGE,
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Considerable knowledge of the operation of offset presses and related
machinery. Considerable knowledge of the mechanical and technical aspects of bindery
operations. Ability to train and direct the work of a small staff engaged in providing
complete duplicating services. Ability to maintain an accurate records system. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with
others. Ability to make accurate and rapid arithmetical calculations. Ability to understand and carry out complex oral and written instructions. |
