SUMMARY
Responsible for coordination of the collection, maintenance, and
processing of faculty appointments and other faculty actions for the
University of Georgia Provost and President, and the Board of Regents.
Work collaboratively with various UGA administrative units including
Offices of the Sr VP for Academic Affairs & Provost, Institutional
Effectiveness, Institutional Research, Budget Review, Budget Office,
Payroll, Human Resources, and Board of Regents. Work is performed with
considerable independence under the supervision and direction of the
Director and Assistant Director of the Office of Faculty Affairs.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Faculty Appointment Processing: Collect and integrate data pertaining to
faculty appointments and reappointments. Review faculty appointment
packages, retire/rehire requests and emeritus appointment requests to
assure the documentation is complete and accurate, and that the
appropriate approvals/signatures are acquired. Communicate and
correspond with faculty affairs contacts at colleges/schools and
departmental units to verify accuracy and ensure completeness of
documentation and status for faculty appointment processing. Electronic
processing of faculty appointments and entering data in FIRST, the
electronic faculty appointment system. Provide support to FIRST users.
Electronic Personnel Processing: Review and approve electronic
personnels in WebDFS for faculty actions. Ensure accuracy of faculty
data on personnel documents.
Faculty Data Management: Maintain paper and electronic files for current
and past faculty including review of files and correction of faculty
data. Includes work with staff of the Office of Institutional Research
to ensure consistency and accuracy of data in FIRST and the UGA Faculty
Database.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Knowledge of University of Georgia administrative and academic systems
and related business principles and practices.
Proficiency with WebDFS and UGA IMS systems, as well as email, word
processing and spreadsheets.
Exceptional organizational, communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to prioritize and multi-task to meet ongoing processing
deadlines
Ability to work efficiently under deadline pressure
Attention to Detail
Strong Critical/Analytical Thinking Skills
