SUMMARY

This position will coordinate all Agriculture Innovation Center special events and projects, to include, but not limited to state, national and international VIP visits, legislative delegation visits, conferences, workshops, dinners and tradeshows. This also includes coordinating all AgIC marketing and public relations events and developing and maintaining industry relations. Additional duties include overseeing and managing the Centers of Innovation project tracking system and coordinating AgIC projects with the COI program manager, the Georgia Department of Economic Development and the University of Georgia. Project recruitment requirements include orchestrating all local, regional, state and federal economic development agencies and funding opportunities. Projects include both those located in the AgIC business incubator in Tifton as well as those around the state.

 

 

  

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

 

 

Coordinate AgIC special events and projects including, but not limited to state, national and international VIP visits, legislative delegation visits, conferences, workshops, dinners and tradeshows.       

Coordinate AgIC marketing and public relations.

Provide business recruitment and identify and assess new technology and innovative agribusiness projects.

Oversee and manage COI project tracking system.

Promote and enhance the agribusiness economic vitality of the state.

Foster community, regional and state agency relations.

Orchestrate economic development and funding entities for active projects.

Pursuing, tracking and reporting qualified leads and projects.

Prioritize existing projects and update project tracking system for each project, weekly.

Coordinate AgIC projects with the COI program manager, the Georgia Department of Economic Development and the University.

Coordinate research and technology solutions between projects and agribusiness industries with University System of Georgia representatives to expedite business development and research commercialization.

Meet with agribusiness industry and developing businesses to assess growth requirements/problems areas.

Develop and maintain collaborative partnerships with community, business leaders and numerous local and regional organizations.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

 

Bachelor's degree plus five years experience 

 

 

  

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

 

 

Daily interaction with state-level leadership and developing businesses requires tact, diplomacy and attention to detail. A history which demonstrates strong leadership ability and exceptional communication skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with officials, employees, business members and associates, as well as the ability to work without direct supervision is required. Must be able to travel as projects, meetings and tradeshows will require travel outside the local area.
