SUMMARY

This is the fourth level in a group of five progressively higher administrative/support jobs.

This title works under very limited supervision and may serve as first-line supervisor or office manager. The supervisor is consulted for clarification of policies. This title also may be responsible for the entire process for scheduling workshops and meetings.

This titles must frequently interpret written policies and procedures and follow generally known precedents for complex cases. In addition, it frequently deals with issues of a highly confidential nature and must be able to use discretion effectively.

This may be in a one-person office.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervises program operations.

Plans, schedules, allocate, and prioritizes workload to meet operating requirements.

Initiates and coordinates complex projects with other departments and interacts with other department personnel to accomplish objectives.

Prepares budget recommendation for assigned work unit and monitors or administers the budget throughout the year.

Assists with program details, often requiring full program knowledge.

May serve as sole administrative and clerical support.

Creates, maintains, and writes queries for databases and uses diagnostic tools in the production and interpretation of data for budgetary and strategic planning.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent and three years of progressively responsible office experience

OR Associate's Degree and one year of responsible office experience may be required.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Working knowledge of office practices and procedures.

Organizational skills.

Ability to use discretion with confidential information.

Ability to use independent judgment.

Ability to work under very limited supervision.

May require supervisory skills.

A typing test may be required by the department.
