SUMMARY

This position is responsible for specialized administrative work managing vending services for the Institution which are secured from private enterprises on a contractual basis. These services include food and beverage vending. 

An employee in this class determines service needs through inspection, analysis of location, sales, and requests for additional services from the Institute's department. On a day-to-day basis, work is performed independently; general review is accomplished through periodic conferences and observation of results. It is common and required that there be daily walking tours of extensive portions of campus.

 

  

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Solicitation:

 - Monitors campus to ensure that student organizations involved in fund raisers, recruitment, other student activities, and departmental events are in compliance with UGA Policies.

 - Removes flyers that violate UGA Policies from bulletin boards, bus stops, and various locations on the UGA campus.

 - Writes letters clarifying the solicitation polices to individuals and various companies who place commercial and recruitment advertisement on the UGA campus.

 - Responds to questions regarding Solicitation Policy as it applies to individuals, businesses, various groups, and student organizations.

 - Regulates newspapers distributed in racks on the UGA campus.

 - Monitors the UGA campus for individuals, businesses, and groups in violation of the Solicitation Policy on a regular basis as well as the day of home football games.

Vending Operations:

 - Inspects vending machines for proper operation and quantity of items and notifies the vendors of any problems.

 - Oversees the vending operations to ensure that Coca-Cola is in compliance with the contract.

 

 - Handles customer complaints concerning equipment malfunctions and other related problems with vending machines.

 - Performs economic studies to determine the vending machine and product distribution needs.

 - Processes commission checks and incorporates the monthly commission report and the Vend product report and other monthly reports into a monthly spreadsheet.

 - Manages the complete inventory on all vending machines on campus noting machine ID number, vend type, outlet number, machine type and location.

 - Writes monthly reports for Vending Services

Warehouse Rentals:

 - Establishes a memorandum of understanding to act as the basis for the rental charges for any new tenants.

 - Handles any issues that arise regarding rented warehouse facilities.

 - Writes monthly reports for various rented spaces.

Manages ATM contracts

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

 

Graduation from an accredited college or university and experience in administrative work or specialized work related to vending services; or any equivalent combination of training and experience.

 

  

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

 

Knowledge of research methods for data gathering in response to requests for vending services.

Knowledge of departmental and Institutional rules, regulations, and policies, in order to make work policy decisions.

Skill in planning and organizing project goals, policies, and procedures.

Ability to maintain records and prepare reports.

 

Ability to work effectively with Institutional officials, employees, students, and vending contractors.

Ability to effectively enforce policy and handle confrontations in a professional and courteous manner.
