SUMMARY

The Dean Rusk Center for International Law and Policy Assistant Director will assist the Director in all aspects of Dean Rusk Center management, including but not limited to, planning and implementing conferences, lectures, and study abroad programs. The Assistant Director will assist the Director in increasing public support and visibility of Rusk Center work, including but not limited to, maintaining the Rusk Center web pages and promoting Rusk Center events. The Assistant Director will supervise the publication and editing of Rusk Center publications, including the Occasional Paper series, newsletters, and internal and external reports. The Assistant Director will also conduct independent research and complete special projects in cooperation with the Director. 

 



DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

 

Assist the Director in all aspects of Rusk Center management including:

 *Managing all aspects of conference/lecture planning and implementation from initial concept and pre-planning to PR and "day-of" responsibilities

 *Facilitation of cooperative work with the various student-run journals and groups at the School of Law

 Administering the Georgia Law Summer Program in China and the Georgia Law Summer Program in Brussels and Geneva:

 *Managing the recruitment and admissions process

 *Corresponding and coordinating with all foreign partners involved with the programs

 *Managing all correspondence with the ABA, including annual reports for both programs

 *On-location administration and management of all aspects of the program over an 8-week    period during the summer

 *Drafting and disseminating all promotional materials

 Managing relations and communications with the Rusk Center Board of Advisors:

 *Assisting with the planning of bi-annual Board meetings in Washington, DC and Atlanta

Increase public support and visibility of Rusk Center by

 *Supervising the publication and editing of Rusk Center publications, including the Occasional Paper series, newsletters, and internal and external reports.

 *Maintaining Rusk Center web pages, and

 *Promoting Rusk Center events.

Conduct independent research

Complete special projects in cooperation with the Director.

J.D. degree
