SUMMARY

The primary responsibility of this classification is to assist the Director in the management and administration of the Georgia Center for Continuing Education and to develop, organize, maintain, and promote organizational initiatives and activities. It is essential that the persons allocated to this line of work understand and fully support the mission and assist the Center in moving toward its goals.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Assist with the training of new staff members where appropriate.

In consultation with the Director, identify, contact, and work together with internal and external clients in various capacities.

Serves on and attends appropriate committees.

Research, develop, and implement new initiatives and programs, including those that are revenue-generating.

Assist with fund raising initiatives for the Center.

Assist the Director in such duties including analyses and recommendations concerning Georgia Center policies and procedures.

Assist the Director with ongoing research regarding Center initiatives.

Performs a variety of administrative functions, including data management and correspondence.

Participates in event marketing by developing, designing, and distributing advertising, press releases, mailings, posters, flyers, newletters, brochures, and other promotional material.

Assist the Director with meetings of campus leaders and others in order to engage various constituencies in the organization's activities.

Attend professional conferences where appropriate.

Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Master's degree in related field, required (Ph.D., preferred) and several years of experience a plus.

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Excellent interpersonal communication and language skills are essential for success in this position.

Computer skills required.

Working knowledge of word processing and other basic office programs.

Problem-solving, decision-making, and interaction with a variety of constituents is vital to this position.
